Changes to Foodbank

Thursday 31st Dec 2020, 12:00am - 12:30am

As of 14 April, Foodbank has re-opened, but with some changes to the way it operates:

If you need an emergency food parcel

For the time being, parcels will be distributed only from St John’s Church Centre, Vicarage Drive, Dukinfield, Cheshire, SK16 5HZ. The Centre will be open from midday to 1pm, Monday to Friday, to enable referral agency staff to collect food parcels on behalf of their clients. Please contact either Tameside Council Call Centre on 0161 342 8355, Tameside Welfare Rights service, or Citizens Advice Bureau on 0300 330 9076, who will arrange a referral and collection of your food parcel for you. We are now also able to offer delivery to addresses in Tameside.

If you would like to make a donation to Foodbank

We need your help more than ever to meet the unprecedented need for food for people in Tameside during the Covid-19 pandemic. Food items can be donated at supermarkets in their donation baskets, or can be brought to St John’s Church Centre between 10am and midday, Monday to Friday.

If you can’t buy food, but would like to make a donation, please visit the foodbank website ( or call the Foodbank Helpline on 0161 339 7924.
